Fitness has NOT always been my thing. My journey started out not as a desire to get fit and healthy, but to build a revenge body after a breakup that rocked my confidence. After a struggle with bulimia in my early teens, I was just tired of feeling out of control of my body so I decided I was going to build the body that I’d been striving for. I gifted myself one month of personal training sessions and, with the accountability and direction from my trainer and wave of vengeful motivation to change how I looked, I started losing weight. YAY? No. I soon became obsessed with the scale, calorie counting, and taking off every inch of body fat. I tried all the things: fat-burning belts, waist trainers, heavy cardio 5+ times a week to make the process speed up to no avail. I hit my goal weight and that wasn’t enough. I found myself having a more fit body but an even more unhealthy relationship with my weight than before! Then one day, I decided to stop working hard and work smart. I decided to learn how to take care of my body.
As I learned more, I realized that the only way to make effective and sustainable changes in my body was to make it a journey and not a destination. I started to fall in love with the process and how incredible our bodies, especially as women, really are. More than a body, I gained discipline and consistency. I’m stronger physically and mentally. I’m in control of myself. I look better. I feel better. I am healthy. But, I get up and keep pursuing my goals and choosing myself every day.
Now? My mission now is to help YOU do the same thing. I want to help you reach your goals, become healthier physically and mentally, develop sustainable habits, and LIVE life long and to the fullest. I still eat (and I mean EAT EAT, sis) and sometimes will skip a workout day (or two). Taking care of your body DOESN’T HAVE to suck. I work for my body so that when I need it, it works for me. I’ll show you how.
Moral of the story?
Everybody, at one point or another, goes on a health and fitness journey. And everybody inevitably ends up falling off their goals in some form. Then the cycle repeats.
But not you. Not again. Stop striving to reach an aesthetic and start striding towards the best version of yourself, inside and out. Stop racing against an invisible clock and make being the best you, a lifestyle. Love yourself enough to invest in yourself. It’s time to start this thing for the last time. I did it and you can too. I’m here to help every step of the way. Let’s get started.
